choice

parents should have the choice [regarding corporal punishment] as to which school they send their children to. if they wish to send their children to schools with christian values, what business is that of the ministry of education? it is not their [the ministry's] task to decide how it is, kiwis live. yet another example of the govt trying to bully kiwis into living the way they [the govt] want. de powering the population. not their [the govt's] job. sometimes it's like living in a benevolent dictatorship.

day one

christchurch! i am here. most of my things are unpacked and i am starting to organise my life. still glowing after our [kiwi] league team trashed great britain. it was a hiding. then, just to top it all off, the "all blacks" tore the french apart. it all happened in the space of 14 or so hours. it was delicious. it's amazing the effect it has on the public mood.
spent yesterday afternoon in the gym with my new bunch of young athletes. a fizzy lot. determined to enjoy themselves. first things first. training diaries, skill and physical bottom lines. time for them to play getting good. should be interesting.

kiwis

only in n.z. ... do supermarkets make sick people walk all the way to the back of the shop to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front.
