having breakfast this morning and listening to the radio. a call from the ministry of education. "we need more men in early childhood education." the numbers of males in the system are now down to less than 1%. the risk of being accused of child abuse, the low level salary structure, the "pc" stance of the education system in new zealand, are hardly what one could call "motivating." yes, there is definitely a male perspective lacking in our education system. but if you think we will work under current conditions, you're dreaming.Labels: early childhood, teaching
