correction vs abuse

smacking children not so harmful - study (unless you use a baseball bat).
07 october 2006
smacking children does not necessarily make them more likely to become aggressive and antisocial, new local research shows.
research by the dunedin multidisciplinary health and development study shows children who are smacked lightly with an open hand on the bottom, hand or leg do much the same in later life as those who are not smacked, (i guess the same could be said for those who are beaten with weapons, fists and feet. they would exhibit certain inappropriate behaviours later in life) the new zealand herald reported today. the full tale .....
correction, leadership, guidance, expectations, meaningful consequences. these things are missing from the childhoods of our children. we are raising amoral children who become amoral teens and will become amoral adults. i am unsure of the answer to this, but i do know one thing. the status quo in nz, is not working. the pc-ness being foisted upon us is failing our children. time for a change. id like to know what you think?
