Why would a man go into the teaching profession? To help young people learn, set goals, work towards achieving said goals, the buzz that goes with watching children reach said goals. No way is the motivation for being a teacher anything to do with dragging screaming and kicking, young teenage men into the world so that they can compete meaningfully in the game of life. I'm not sure how it came about that parents attitudes to teachers turned to scorn and disrespect. The "you don't have to" mentality that seems to prevail. The "you have rights" attitude, but "no responsibility." It seems to end like this. Watch out folks, you'll get what you wish for!
