our youngest killer

bailey junior kurariki (our youngest killer at 12) has been denied parole. he was one of several teens who murdered 40 year old pizza delivery dude michael choy in 2001. he was sentenced to 7 years. he is now 17 and still dangerous. the parole board recognise that more work needs to be done with him. no mention of the fact that he did the crime, now he should do the time.

hello ther friend, sorry i've been away for a while

a young person who kills scares the hell out of me, i read one time where an 8 year old and a 6 year old beat an 18 month old baby to death just to see what it was like, i just can't see where there's any coming back from that.

take care friend.

No indeed, it must scar you for life to do something like that. I can't help feeling that the price must be paid.

At 6 or 8 or 12 or even 15 we know little. We believe in Santa Claus, our parents, the TV, the latest PSP game, our own immortality.
A young person who kills scares me less than an experienced, educated adult who kills, whether it be with a knife or a gun or a missile.

How does anyone recover from taking a life. It's a heavy burden. Yes, an adult is more scary. For they know enough not to do it in the first place. I do wonder what it has done to Kurariki.

Such a shame, huh? I mean he took a life and must pay and repent. But the key is understanding what brought him to that point? There are times, when a child is just a psychopath but many times they were exposed and given the wrong impression of right and wrong. They must learn the hardest way. It is just a shame.

Sad, just what might happen to society when/if Bailey is released?, will he make Graham Burton look like a saint and payback in a not so nice way or will he himself endevour to make up for the errors in his past?. How many gangs more like the cripps/bloods kiwi wannabe versions want to enlist him as one of theirs.
New Zealand has not heard the last of this young man.
